Procedures

Referrals to The Hyde Park Day Schools undergo a comprehensive review of documents describing the child. Specifically, we review the results of all assessments conducted on the child, records of previous placements and Individual Education Plans (IEP). The applicant and his/her family are required to complete the Applicant Information Form, sign the Release Form after listing teachers, principals, tutors, and other professionals who the child is presently seeing or has seen; and send to The Hyde Park Day School Chicago Campus all diagnostic evaluations, school and other professional reports. The preliminary review of materials is completed by the Admissions Committee. If applications require additional documentation, the referral source is advised of such in writing.

Potential student candidates and their parents, legal guardians or caregivers are invited to participate in the interview process. Initially, parents, legal guardians, or caregivers are invited to meet the Executive Director of the school to discuss the program, tour the facility, and review the current status of the child. Next, the prospective student is invited to spend a day at the school. The final admission decision for completed applications occurs after a comprehensive review by the Admissions Committees. Admission decisions are communicated in writing.

Tuition and Other Costs

Information on current tuition for the day school may be requested from The Hyde Park Day Schools. Scholarship funds may be available to assist some families unable to afford the full cost of tuition. Tuition includes all expenses except for participation in the Summer Program.

Fees for the Intensive Tutoring Program are: $85 per one-hour session (1 or 2 sessions per week); $75 per one-hour session (more than 2 sessions per week).
